Following the 2010–2011 Canterbury earthquakes, Christchurch City Libraries received donated vans from Rotary New Zealand to create mobile libraries and restore access to books and community in affected areas. We collaborated to design vehicle wraps that delivered strong visual impact while telling an inspiring story of resilience and discovery.
The artwork required meticulous preparation: over 67 individual images were carefully cut out, retouched, and seamlessly composed into panoramic wraps. Featuring iconic Christchurch historical architecture, monuments, native flora and fauna, and other local elements of interest, the designs evoke escapism, the joy of travel, and the transformative power of reading and knowledge. The result is a fleet of vibrant, narrative-driven mobile libraries that not only catch the eye on the road but also invite curiosity and connection within the community.
